Meaning of Life?

What is the meaning of life? In my eyes everyone has their own meaning. What is meaning? Meaning is the notion that when your life is complete you will be known for something. For that something it can be anything you want it to be. If your meaning in life is to be a serial killer-arsonist, and you are the best serial killer-arsonist when you die, then your life had meaning. It is all in your perspective. The meaning of my life is to make a difference in someone's life. If someone, just one person, remembers me after I die, then my life will have meaning. I want my name to go on for something. (positive) That, to me, is what the meaning of life is.

  1. You pretty much said what most other people and I said is the meaning of life. I liked how you used the "serial killer-arsonist." It made what you said amusing.

  2. Don't you feel that most things we find meaningful is based off what other people say? Society dictates what things are/aren't meaningful, which in turn influences our own perception of meaning.

  3. You seem to really value how others will remember you, but after you die? Is the true meaning of life only found through your death? I feel like it would mostly be about the things you did in your life that another person believes are worth remembering rather than about remembering you specifically after you die. Otherwise wouldn't this be the answer to the meaning of death, not the meaning of life?
